Pie Crust
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 cup Unsalted butter cold and cubed
- ¼ cup Ice water
Filling
- 6 cups Apples peeled, cored, and sliced
- ¾ cup Granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoon All-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon Ground nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt for the crust. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in ice water, a tablespoon at a time, until mixture forms a ball. Divide dough in half and shape into balls. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.
Roll out one ball of dough on a lightly floured surface to fit a 9-inch pie dish. Transfer dough to pie dish and trim even with edge. Set aside.
In a large bowl, toss apples with lemon juice. Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg; add to apples and toss to coat. Pour into crust.
Roll out remaining dough to fit top of pie; place over filling. Trim, seal, and flute edges. Cut slits in crust.
Bake for 45-50 minutes or until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbly. Cool on a wire rack.
