Bananas Foster
A classic New Orleans dessert made with bananas, rum, and vanilla ice cream.

Main Ingredients
- 4 bananas sliced lengthwise
- ¼ cup butter unsalted
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup dark rum
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 pint vanilla ice cream
In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the brown sugar and cinnamon, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
Add the banana slices and cook until they start to soften, about 2 minutes.
Carefully add the rum and allow it to heat for a few seconds, then ignite the rum with a long lighter to flambé. Let the flames subside.
Serve the bananas and sauce over vanilla ice cream.
