  • 4 bananas sliced lengthwise
  • ¼ cup butter unsalted
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup dark rum
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pint vanilla ice cream

Instructions 

  1. In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the brown sugar and cinnamon, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Add the banana slices and cook until they start to soften, about 2 minutes.
  4. Carefully add the rum and allow it to heat for a few seconds, then ignite the rum with a long lighter to flambé. Let the flames subside.
  5. Serve the bananas and sauce over vanilla ice cream.
