Eastern North Carolina BBQ Sauce Recipe
This is a tangy and spicy vinegar-based BBQ sauce, typical of Eastern North Carolina.

Main Ingredients
- 2 cups apple cider vinegar
- ½ cup ketchup
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Combine all ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat. 
- Bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally. 
- Simmer for 10 minutes, then remove from heat. 
- Let cool, then transfer to a bottle or jar. 
- Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
