Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 lbs beef chuck, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoon sweet paprika
  • 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • 1 teaspoon dried marjoram
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 2 large carrots, sliced
  • 2 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 can diced tomatoes

Instructions 

  1. Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the beef and cook until browned on all sides. Remove the beef and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, add the onions and cook until softened. Add the garlic and cook for another minute.
  3. Return the beef to the pot. Stir in the paprika, caraway seeds, marjoram, salt, and pepper. Cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Add the beef broth, carrots, potatoes, bell pepper, and diced tomatoes. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the beef is tender.
  5. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.
