Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Pork shoulder cut into chunks
  • 1 large Onion chopped
  • 4 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Oregano
  • 1 can Hominy drained and rinsed
  • 6 cups Chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoon Chili powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Instructions 

  1. 1. Heat a large pot over medium heat. Add the pork and cook until browned on all sides.
  2. 2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot. Cook until the onion is translucent.
  3. 3. Stir in the ground cumin, oregano, and chili powder. Cook for another minute.
  4. 4. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let it simmer for about 1 hour.
  5. 5. Add the hominy and continue to simmer for another 30 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. 6. Serve hot, garnished with your favorite toppings like cilantro, lime wedges, and avocado.
