Mofongo Recipe
A traditional Puerto Rican dish made from fried green plantains, garlic, and chicharrón.

Main Ingredients
- 4 pieces Green Plantains peeled and cut into 1-inch slices
- 2 cloves Garlic minced
- 1 cup Chicharrón crushed
- 1 cup Vegetable Oil for frying
- to taste Salt
1. Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
2. Fry the plantain slices until golden and tender, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
3. In a mortar and pestle, mash the garlic and salt together.
4. Add the fried plantains and chicharrón to the mortar and mash until well combined.
5. Shape the mixture into small balls or serve as a mound. Enjoy!
