Main Ingredients
- 1 lb Ground Beef
- 1 Onion sliced
- 8 slices Rye Bread
- 4 slices Swiss Cheese
- 4 tablespoon Butter softened
- to taste Salt and Pepper
1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a bit of butter. Add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
2. In a mixing bowl, season the ground beef with salt and pepper. Form into 4 patties.
3. In the same skillet, cook the patties over medium-high heat until browned and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and set aside.
4. Butter one side of each slice of rye bread. Place 4 slices, buttered side down, on the skillet. Top each with a slice of Swiss cheese, a beef patty, caramelized onions, and another slice of bread, buttered side up.
5. Cook until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 2-3 minutes per side. Serve hot.
