Ingredients

  • 1 cup grits
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 pound sausage cooked and crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 large eggs beaten

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, bring water to a boil. Add salt and grits, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to low and cook until thickened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in butter and milk. Add cheese and stir until melted.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked grits, sausage, and beaten eggs. Mix well.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish. Bake for 45 minutes or until set and golden on top.
  6. Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
