Cabbage Rolls
- 1 large cabbage cored
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 small onion finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 can tomato sauce (15 oz)
- 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
- 1 cup beef broth
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the cabbage and cook for 2-3 minutes or until leaves are softened. Remove and set aside to cool.
In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, cooked rice, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper.
Carefully remove leaves from the cabbage. Place a small amount of the meat mixture in the center of each leaf and roll up, tucking in the sides.
In a baking dish, spread a layer of tomato sauce. Place the cabbage rolls seam-side down in the dish. Pour the remaining tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and beef broth over the rolls.
Cover with foil and bake for 75-90 minutes, or until the meat is cooked through and the cabbage is tender.
