- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1.5 cups sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 0.5 cup butter softened
- 3 egg whites
- 2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour your cake pan.
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
In another bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg whites one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Alternate adding the flour mixture and milk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
