- 4 cups thinly sliced potatoes
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Layer half of the potatoes in a greased baking dish.
Sprinkle half of the cheese over the potatoes.
Repeat with remaining potatoes and cheese.
In a small saucepan, melt butter and stir in milk, salt, and pepper.
Pour the milk mixture over the potatoes.
Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, until golden brown.
